About the Authors
Joan Golden Joan did her graduate work in Theatre and Journalism at the University of Colorado. Her stage play, Not Quite Heaven, is a finalist in the McLaren Comedy Contest for 2008 and will be presented at the McLaren Comedy Festival in September. The Half World was a finalist in the Lake County (CA) Repertory Theatre competition in 2004, and Equinox was produced in Denver and showcased at the 2002 Rocky Mountain Theatre Association Theatrefest. Three other plays, Cooking With Mary Lou Cling, Percussion Discussion and The White Room have had productions in Denver. A member of Chameleon Stage Playwrights, Joan also writes for television and magazines. Cynthia Drew Cynthia holds a degree in broadcast journalism and teaches writing on the University of North Carolina's Asheville campus. She writes for Western North Carolina Woman Magazine and participates in UNC's Great Smokies Writing Project. She received a Wesleyan University Writers Workshop scholarship, awarded for her memoir, "The High Road to Taos." Her short stories have appeared in Rapid River (second prize, 2004), Mountainland Magazine, (Humor Prize, 2003), Perigee, Taj Mahal Review, Middle English Journal, and in the anthologies New Century Voices and Tree Magic.
